NRC Mission
NRC is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement and improvement of recycling, source reduction, composting, and reuse by providing technical information, education, training, outreach, and advocacy services to its members in order to conserve resources and benefit the environment.
NRC Projects
- Climate Change & Waste Reduction: Helps promote the integration of waste reduction activities into state and local climate change action plans and goals.
- Electronic Recycling Initiative: Helps promote environmentally and economically responsible management of electronic products throughout their lifecycle.
- National Finance Initiative: Provides a centralized source of information and training to assist recycling businesses in obtaining financing.
- NRC's Policy Work Group: On-line forum designed to provide periodic updates on the activities of NRC policy workgroup and to solicit NRC members' input on policy issues affecting recycling.
- Recycling Works: Provide relevant information and networking opportunities for municipal recycling coordinators, material recovery operators, material processes, and trade association representatives.
- Source Reduction Forum: Generator of tools and resources to advance source reduction and reuse initiatives. A network of individuals who are interested in promoting the top end of materials management hierarchy-waste prevention.
- Recycling Economic Information: By the end of 2000, NRC will know how much recycling contributes to the national economy with the results of a precedent-setting study called the National Recycling Economic Information Initiative (REI).
