Organize & Recycle

The Michigan Recycling Coalition and the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) Southeast Michigan Chapter are working together to create the Organize & Recycle Joint Presentation Series that was launched in Michigan in late 2010. This series successfully combines recycling with appropriate organizing topics. The purpose of these presentations is to bring organizers and recyclers together to collaborate and provide information and how-tos for new audiences at libraries and other public venues throughout the state.
The first presentation is an introduction to getting organized and recycling at home. The collaboration plans to generate eight new presentations in the coming two years, with each presentation focusing on a different area in the home: kitchen, garage, bathroom, home office, bedroom/closet, etc. Each presentation topic will only be available for a specific three month period each year. The presentations last one hour with NAPO Chapter members presenting organization tips with MRC members presenting recycling options. Presenters will be available to answer audience questions.
Both organizations have developed program guidelines for member participants. NAPO Chapter members who have expressed interest in the program are matched with local recycling coordinators to co-present in the region. If you are an MRC member interested in this program please contact the MRC office at 517/794-3672 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
