The Michigan Compost Operator Training (MCOT) Program is designed to provide compost operators with all the informational tools and training they need to operate a larger scale operation in Michigan. This in-depth educational program provides information about composting basics to the more com­plex issues of financing, odor control, marketing and adding new feedstocks.  Municipalities and businesses that compost or are thinking about providing com­posting services will benefit from the experience and the contacts they’ll make in the process. With new composting rules and regulations, participants will leave the training fully under­standing what’s expected of their program and how to avoid the pitfalls. The program was originally developed through a state grant a grant by Re­sourceRecycling Systems, Inc and the Michigan Recycling Coalition has been providing trainings for more than ten years.
