For 35 years, the MRC has been helping businesses, nonprofits, and municipalities explore the future of recycling and organics management. Revised Summit Schedule


Wednesday: Join us for a day filled with advocacy, tours, and trainings. We'lll be holding our regional meetings-bringing together stakeholders from around the state to network and talk about the recycling and organics activities happening in their part of the mitten. In the evening we'll have a Decision Makers Reception followed by a night on the town for our annual grub crawl. 

Thursday:  The state's largest recycling/ organics exhibit hall opens, with keynote highlights from the honorable Sam Singh and Recycling Expert Michele Nestor. The MRC's Annual Meeting and new BOD members will be decided, and there will be education sessions with experts from around our state and country discussing everything materials management.  Don't miss out on our networking events, trivia night, and more fun Thursday surprises. 

Friday: The DEQ Governor's Recycling Summit will bring exciting updates on our state's recycling activities. The Governor's Recycling awards, updates from grant recipients, and a highlight of the states largest organics and reycling exhibit hall will keep Friday action packed. Here from state officials like DEQ Director Heidi Grether and keynote speaker Sarah Dearman, Director of Sustainable Packaging, Coca Cola Company.

The Michigan Recycling Coalition 2017 Award of Excellence Application has been released! Help us identify and recognize programs that capture the spirit and intent of Recycle, MI. A place where recycling contributes to a healthy and vibrant community and economy. Congratulations to the 2016 award winners! 


All types of programs - big and small, public and private - will be considered. Examples of the types of programs that you may want to nominate include: recycling programs (public, private, commercial, corporate, industrial, school, etc), composting programs, education/outreach programs, waste reduction/reuse programs.
