Time to think BIG and small about recycling.

Tuesday, December 2, 2014
10:00 am - 4:00 pm

$50 for MRC members, $125 for non-members

Okemos Conference Center

Join fellow MRC members, recycling coordinators, MRF operators, materials processors, haulers, and other recycling colleagues in a discussion about creating the future of recycling. At this interactive Fall IntoRecycling event we will facilitate conversation among particpants to identify and explore state and local level policy and programming priorities aimed at exceeding recycling goals. Share your knowledge and experience as the MRC asserts its expertise with the intention of pushing for even more impact on the diversion of resources from disposal to recycling.

Understanding the dynamics at play as the state assumes a leadership role in recycling is key to local and regional planning for a successful recycling future. Learn about a variety of programs getting underway and how your community can benefit from the Governor's Recycling Initiative. Help the MRC advocate for your needs by engaging in discussions aimed at identifying key issues for local governements and service providers as they prepare to meet growing recycling demands.

Expanding recycling opportunity in Michigan will require well-coordinated work among a wide variety of stakeholders. We must work together to identify and fill gaps in recycling service provision and infrastructure to facilitate the increased flow of resources that will result from targeted education and investment. We have a year and a half to show what continued funding could do to provide tangible economic and environmental benefit to stakeholders. Plan on joining MRC members, partners, and staff in Okemos on December 2, 2014, to explore, discuss and update our vision for recycling in Michigan.
