SPECIAL WASTES

This is a catchall category for materials that are not always recyclable.  In this section you will find information about what the product is, what its problems are, its impact on the environment when improperly handled, what product stewardship initiatives are underway and what types of collection programs are available.  Some special wastes include tires, electronics, batteries, unwanted medicines, paints, fluorescent lights including CFLs, mercury containing products, household hazardous waste  and more.  Please send a comment or correction to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
